Dear fellow Vietnamese American,

Within a few months, all Americans will celebrate the 239th Birthday of the United States on July 4, 2015. As previous years, the Fourth of July celebration will start with the America’s National Independence Day Parade at 11:45 am in Washington, D.C., on Constitution Avenue (America’s Main Street) starting at 7th and ending on 17th Street. The streets will fill with hundreds of thousands of spectators. The Parade consists of invited bands, fife and drum corps, floats, military and special units, giant helium balloons, equestrian, drill teams, VIP’s, national dignitaries, and celebrity participants.

We are pleased to announce that the Vietnamese American Community of Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia have been selected to march in this year America’s National Independence Day Parade. Our theme for the Parade is “The Vietnamese Americans contribution to FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY of the United States since 1975.”

We are marching to represent ALL VIETNAMESE AMERICANS. We want to fully participate in this march because we are PROUD of our heritage and the country we came from; however, we want to celebrate this special holiday as AMERICANS. With your help, we want to show America the contribution Vietnamese Americans have made to this Great Nation, through our roles as scientists, doctors, military leaders of all ranks, teachers and professors, all in all, we are part of America. In summary, the Independence Day Parade is a patriotic, flag-waving, red white and blue celebration of America’s birthday!

Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. You will receive a receipt for your donation in any amounts. All donations will go directly to support the design and construction of our float and sound system, transportation and refreshments for our volunteers, costumes and other related parade activities.
